Current Events

Here we are starting a new year and some things are starting to change at church. First, the leaders of our church were faced with a decision of tough leadership. There were some in the body, that wanted to stop contemporary worship style of music, and revert back to traditional only. (You know, the squeaky wheel syndrome) Fortunately, the leaders all stepped up and led for the future, not looking behind. I know a few people were disappointed, but for the greater good of reaching more for Christ, the right decision was made. ( I know some of you who read this will cynically think... "Of course I would say that, I'm the worship minister....." but it's true.) More importantly, for the worship team as a whole, some awesome things are beginning to happen. Our study, of the book, "The Heart of the Artist" by Rory Noland has been awesome. I recommend it to anyone involved in the worship ministry at their church. It has changed hearts, attitudes, and created servants where once self-serving people sat and played guitars. We have drafted and are soon to adopt, a mission statement, purpose statement and goals of the worship ministry team. I'm excited!!!! Never before have we been here, never again will we be. We press on toward the goal!!
Remember: May our strings be bent in praise to the King, our drums beat and keys struck in perfect rhythm of Jesus Christ. Until every move we make, we make in You... We press on.
